The Catholic Artiste and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN) has taken a significant step toward advancing moral and cultural transformation, with its national and provincial executives paying a high-profile courtesy visit to the Oyo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. AbdulWasiu Olatubosun.

Commissioner Commends CAEAN’s Model for Youth Engagement
Led by the National President, Ambassador Edith Isidahomen, the delegation from CAEAN's Ibadan Province and Archdiocese was warmly received by Dr. Olatubosun at the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.

The Commissioner expressed profound delight and commended the association for its unique role in promoting moral transformation and evangelisation through the arts.
Dr. Olatubosun was particularly impressed that CAEAN has successfully integrated religious mission with cultural appreciation, stating their approach is a vital model for youth engagement, development, and the promotion of essential social values.

"We are proud of what CAEAN stands for," the Commissioner stated.

"Culture is not against faith; it is the expression of our identity as a people. We are ready to partner with your association in future programmes and events that promote moral reawakening and creativity among the youth."

He further assured the team of the Ministry’s full readiness to collaborate on initiatives that align with the state’s vision for cultural preservation, the growth of the creative industry, and tourism development.

CAEAN Reaffirms Commitment to Cultural Heritage and Youth Empowerment
In response, Amb. Edith Isidahomen expressed sincere appreciation for the Ministry’s proactive dedication to advancing arts and culture across Oyo State. She passionately reaffirmed CAEAN's commitment to working closely with the Ministry to promote the state's cultural heritage and increase awareness, especially among young people.

Amb. Isidahomen highlighted the association’s core mission: “CAEAN remains committed to using music, drama, film, and other forms of artistic expression to spread moral values and empower the younger generation.

We look forward to collaborating with the Ministry to strengthen cultural awareness and preserve our rich heritage.”

She concluded by underscoring the crucial role of the synergy between religion and culture as an essential element for sustainable national development.

Attendees and Future Outlook:
The constructive meeting signals a strong future alliance between the cultural sector and faith-based arts groups in Oyo State. Also present at the meeting were the General Manager and Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, along with several Directors and Culture Officers.

The CAEAN delegation included key officials such as the Provincial Coordinator of Ibadan Province, Mr. Raphael Osirim, and the Public Relations Officer of CAEAN Ibadan Archdiocese, Mr. Daniel Fasanya, among others.

This partnership is expected to yield collaborative events and programmes designed to inject moral values and cultural consciousness into the creative landscape of the state.
