A Weekend of Deep Engagement: Most Rev. Dr. Simeon Okezuo Nwobi, CMF, recently concluded a scheduled and highly impactful Pastoral Visit to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Obibi Nguru Mbaise, Imo State, spanning from Saturday, October 11, to Sunday, October 12, 2025.

The visit was marked by comprehensive engagement with both the parish leadership and the youth preparing for a pivotal sacrament.

Pastoral and Council Interaction: The visit's focus on Saturday was intensive preparation for the Sunday conferment of the Sacrament of Confirmation.

True to his pastoral routine, Bishop Nwobi dedicated the evening to a crucial interaction with the Parish Pastoral Council members, alongside the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Donald Akalefu. This meeting allowed for a direct discussion on the pastoral needs and progress of the parish community.

Catechesis on Heroic Faith: Following the council meeting, His Lordship spent dedicated time catechizing the Confirmandi. Engaging them in a thorough question-and-answer session, Bishop Nwobi meticulously tested their preparedness for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Drawing a powerful example from the life of the late Vivian Uchechi Ogu, the Bishop charged the candidates to embrace her heroic faith and cultivate sound spirituality.

He strongly emphasized the need for the young candidates to join the various pious sodalities within the Church, highlighting the immense spiritual benefits and structured growth these groups provide.

Blessing for a Communications Leader: A significant highlight of the visit included the Bishop's call to the family home of the distinguished Very Rev. Prof. Walter Ihejirika, President of SIGNIS Africa and Chairman of the Ahiara Diocesan Directorate of Social Communications.

Bishop Nwobi offered prayers and a special blessing upon the family and their home, acknowledging the vital role Professor Ihejirika plays in the Church's communication apostolate, especially since Holy Trinity Parish Obibi Nguru is his home parish.
