Uromi Diocese Catholic Men Elect Dynamic New Leadership in Peaceful Poll

The Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) of the Uromi Diocese has successfully concluded an electoral exercise, ushering in a new slate of officers set to guide the organization into a new era. The peaceful and orderly election marks a significant moment for the men's wing of the Catholic community in the Diocese.
The election was overseen by a high-powered delegation from the Benin Ecclesiastical Province, ensuring a fair and transparent process. Leading the delegation were the Provincial President, Mr. Steve A. Apologun, and the Provincial Secretary, Mr. Michael Iyiegbuniwe.
The process culminated in the election of Mr. S.O. Agboiyi as the new Diocesan President.
The New Executive Council
A full roster of dedicated men was elected to serve alongside the new President:

Secretary: Sir Aikore Innocent (KSP)
Assistant Secretary: Mr. S. Emovuon
Financial Secretary: Mr. Monday Ehizotu
Treasurer: Mr. E. Dokpesi
Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.): Mr. Augustine Azeke
Provost: Mr. Festus Azignode
Legal Adviser: Barr. Kingsley Eriata
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the election enjoyed the full presence and support of the Diocesan Chaplain, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Obaweki, as well as the Parish Priest of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Iduwele-Ewu, signaling the clergy's full acceptance of the new leadership.
In his brief but powerful acceptance speech, the new President, Mr. S. O. Agboiyi, expressed gratitude and made a clear commitment to the future. He promised to not only build upon the legacies of the previous administration but also to elevate the organization to "a greater height."
The Provincial President, Mr. Steve Apologun, reinforced the theme of collective effort. He addressed the Catholic Men of the Diocese, stressing the necessity of collaborative support for the newly elected officials.
"They need your cooperation and prayers; they cannot succeed alone," Mr. Apologun stated, emphasizing that "to elect somebody into a position is not the end of it." He concluded by pointing out that true leadership is a collective responsibility, which requires the active participation of all members.
