New Era Begins! Arch Constantine Omokpo Elected to Lead CMO Iguobazuwa Deanery

Okada, Edo State – The Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) Iguobazuwa Deanery inaugurated its new leadership today, November 9, 2025, following a successful quadrennial election. Arch Constantine Omokpo emerged as the new President of the Deanery's Executive Committee, marking the beginning of a fresh four-year term. The significant transition event, held at St. Gabriel De Archangel Catholic Church, Okada, followed the completion of the previous administration's tenure.

​The election process was smoothly executed and meticulously supervised by a delegation from the CMO Archdiocese of Benin City, with the Archdiocesan Secretary General, Mr. Osas Egheomwanre, ably leading the team.

A Day of Transition and Transparency

​The day's schedule combined spiritual observance with essential organizational duties:

  • Thanksgiving Mass: Activities began with a Holy Mass and a thanksgiving ceremony by the outgoing CMO Iguobazuwa Deanery Executive Committee, celebrating their concluded tenure.
  • Stewardship Report: During a subsequent bi-monthly deanery meeting, the outgone excos, led by Sir. VN Ekwemelor, presented their final stewardship and financial reports, ensuring a transparent handover process.
  • Credible Election: Following the official dissolution of the outgoing executive, the Archdiocesan team conducted a credible and keenly contested election to select the new set of leaders.

New Executive Committee Takes Oath

​After the election, a strong team was elected to steer the affairs of the CMO Iguobazuwa Deanery for the next four years. Serving alongside President Arch Constantine Omokpo are the new leaders: Mr. Andrew Ajayi as Vice President, Mr. Benjamin Okpor as Secretary General, Mr. Valentine Eze as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Benedict Okogbeni as Treasurer, Mr. Gabriel Ajayi as Financial Secretary, Mr. Samson Egharevba as PRO, Mr. Ogbudu Joseph as Provost/Welfare Officer, and DSP Cyprian Idoghor as Legal Adviser.

​These newly elected officers were immediately sworn-in by the Archdiocesan First Vice President, Barr. Melody Ogunsuyi, officially commencing their term of service.

Gratitude for a Peaceful Process

​The CMO Iguobazuwa Deanery expressed its sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event:

​"We deeply appreciate the Host Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Richard Ozioko, and his parishioners for providing a very conducive atmosphere for the meeting and election. To the Archdiocesan team, we thank you all for your fatherly advice and the credible, transparent election process."



​The Deanery offered congratulations to its members for the peaceful conclusion of the polls, stating, "Congratulations to CMO Iguobazuwa Deanery for acting maturely and peacefully throughout the process. We're all winners in the house of God."

​The Deanery wishes the new executive a peaceful and successful reign in office.
